Not sick. Wait, sick. (aka Week 10)
2 July 2023
Back at it again. Started the week with a rather rude (after a week off) Tempo Run - two 16 minute sets in Zone 3. Definitely good for blowing out the cobwebs though! Hit the Bay Run for this. My go to for anything requiring a bit of pace due to the reliable path, choice of elevation (you want a long slow climb or a steep short one?) and options for extending it out as required (one lap? Two laps? Head out along the green line for a few extra Kms). Hit each of the easy runs (which have now crept up to 55 mins). Then for Friday’s hard session it was back to good old hill repeats and back to the pedestrian on ramp on the Pyrmont side of the Anzac Bridge. 6 x 2 mins running up that. How I did this is completely unbeknownst to me, but I managed to do 7 repeats. Glitch in the space time continuum I can only assume, because both my Garmin and I were counting them. Anyway, that single extra effort surely makes up for last week off, right? Right? That’s what I told myself anyway.
This week’s longy was going to be a three and a half hour trek around Sydney. Unfortunately, I either hadn’t recovered properly or caught something new because I woke up feeling terrible on Saturday morning, and continued to decline over the weekend. This sucks.
